Real Time Stock Control
Management within the club can access real time stock reports including sales, stock evaluation, minimum stock levels, deliveries, members spend, sales audits by till location and full stock control of food, beverages and Proshop.
Reduced Cash Handling
By introducing smart cards as a method of payment the need for cash floats
is greatly reduced (some clubs report a reduction of 70% reduction). This reduction of cash handling has a number of advantages such as reduced bank fees and less chance of cash handling errors and theft.
Members and staff will also benefit from quicker transaction times, as change is not required when paying by smart card.
Loyalty Card Discount for Members
Many clubs use the smart card as a loyalty card. This is achieved by increasing the bar prices and then giving the smart card
user a discount. In practice, clubs normally increase bar prices to fall in
line with local pub prices (normally 10-15%) and then give
discount to the smart card user by the same amount. Discount
levels may vary by category of member and/or product e.g. Wine
may represent a higher increase/ discount. This increases profit as non smart card users
i.e. visitors, pay more. An option to use the member smart card without credit as a discount card is also available on request. |
Corporate Cards
Smart cards can be given to corporate clients, sponsors and visiting teams. This will give the club/customer tighter control of spend as all transactions are paid for by smart card. This will then enable the office to produce a professional statement of account for payment and if required a full sales audit.
Increased Member Spend
Payment by smart card is convenient and has the same effect as paying by plastic. Members tend to spend more when not using cash.
Back Office control of Pricing
Till prices are changed within the stock program, normally at a back office location. This is quick and convenient. Clubs can set-up happy hour prices/ after midnight price increases, which are changed at the till point (price level 1 changed to price level 2, pin number protected) these again are pre-determined at the office.
Social Pre-payment
Pre-payment (not levy) is a method of enhancing club finances without penalising those who support
the club. By introducing a pre-payment as part of the annual
subscription, the club will benefit from a cash injection at the start of each year.
This has obvious cash flow advantages. Clubs normally introduce a pre-payment of £100 per member but this amount can vary depending on category of member. The member can then spend the pre-payment as they wish in the club although the club may decide that pre-payment may only be spent on certain items (e.g. Bar Only). |
If a member spends
his or her pre-payment they can continue to enjoy discounted
rates by topping up the card. This can be done at the till or
office. Any pre-payment monies not spent within an agreed period (normally a year) can be retained by the club.
Our research indicates that this retention figure can vary
between 5-18% of original pre-payment. Card top-ups are automatically carried forward.
Increased Gross Profit
Our research indicates that clubs which have installed our EPoS
system report, on average, an increase of 6% gross
profit.
Day-to-Day Operation
All products are supported by manuals which are
comprehensive and easy to follow.
Pre-payment is handled from the office. When payments are received, these are processed as normal and are automatically credited to the members account. Card top-ups can be processed at either the office or at any till
location.
Till operation is similar to that of a conventional till with
the facility to pay by smart card as an additional function. Full training is provided
at the time of installation. Our experience indicates that
bar staff training on the system will take no longer than
one hour. |
